Baguio City | Haunted by the Laperal House

I went to Baguio City last weekend to unwind, relax, breathe and feel fresh air, eat anything strawberry-flavored food–you know, just enjoying my early retirement (haha, wishful thinking!)–only to get myself haunted by this famous white house–the Laperal House.

The Laperal House, the famous white house Baguio City, is believed to be haunted by restless spirits.

I don’t know what encouraged me to visit this Baguio attraction all by myself. Yes, I didn’t have an itinerary so everything I did in the city was all out of whim, but, seriously, why did I even consider braving this place ALONE?! But well, I was there already so why not?

Le Laperal House
The Laperal House, a white house located on Leonard Wood Road, was owned and built by one of the oldest clans in Baguio–the Laperals, hence the name of the house–in 1920. According to stories passed on from generation to generation, the house was used by the Japanese to torture and kill their enemies, and rape women–hence the perceived presence of ghosts.

MAIGSING KWENTO NG KATATAKUTAN
Filipino horror stories are best told in your native tongue, so ito ang nangyari:

Hahaha!

It was a unique experience for me. I’d never joined any ghost tour or gone to any haunted house before, but never had I thought that I’d do it alone. I just hope the people managing the house would at least assign guides inside the white house so people like me, matatakutin, could still find it easy to roam inside, and appreciate its architecture. Also, it would be better if ghost stories were told by guides rather than visitors resorting to the Internet for these. Anyway, suggestions lang naman. Hehe.

LAPERAL HOUSE – Please come in!

I’ll visit this house again, and this time, may kasama na ako at aakyatin namin ang last floor at papasukin ang master’s bedroom na pinaka-haunted daw!
